2019 has started really well. I came back after Christmas with a fresh approach, a better frame of mind, and things to look forward to. I guess I needed the break more than I realised. This year is a fresh start and a chance to turn my back on all last year’s problems.
I put in place a few New Year Resolutions early on, to keep me motivated, focused and to stop me getting stuck in a rut both at work and in my personal life. So far these ideas are still working and are helping to keep me focused on the task ahead.
My views are up on Etsy and already improved on last year. In January I made sales at the same rate at the end of last year, and I guess people have filled a dent in their Christmas spending because my sales for February are at their highest rate ever, and I haven’t reached the end of the month yet.
I have been involved in some photoshoots and I have others booked. Working with other people, something I missed out on a lot last year, and seeing my designs in use, inspires me to want to do more and spend more time in the studio as well as at my sewing machine. If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to, check out my Instagram.
Despite the cold weather and the snow, the daylight hours are getting longer and a couple of unusually warm spells are helping to keep me motivated. The sun is a great healer. I am looking forward to Spring days again and being able to get outside more. A canal side walk in the warm sun was very welcome this week.
This image, taken on a very cold early February day, reminds me that summer will be here again before we know it and that is very exciting to me.
